If a guy like me can do it, so can you. I mean, I’ve been deathly afraid of women ever since I was a kid. I still remember the first girl I ever had a crush on. Her name was Emily and we were both in elementary school.
I had to tell her how I felt, so I ran up to her in the school yard one day, avoided eye contact completely, and said: “Here take this.”
I was shy, but also curious. I had to know if she liked me. I ran back to see her reaction, and she was thoroughly shocked. This would send me running away again, yet only to return moments later with the hope that somehow everything would work out.

Before long, elementary school was over and it was time for high school. To my horror, Emily’s parents decided to send her to a DIFFERENT school than the one I was attending.
I begged my parents to send me to HER school. When they refused, I begged Emily’s parents to send her to MY school. They wouldn’t budge either. There was nothing I could do.
Why didn’t I pursue her? Why didn’t I try harder to keep her? Why was I overconfident that she was my girl and I didn’t have to do anything to keep her?
Fast forward ten years and I was still single. I went through high school and college completely alone. I never had a girlfriend. I never had a date. Heck, I never even had a first kiss.
Waking up every morning was torture because it just meant another day of pain and sadness. To say I was depressed would be an understatement.
Every one of my friends had a girlfriend by now, but not me. I couldn’t figure it out. I had a lot to offer a woman. I came from a good home, was in decent shape and somewhat good looking. Yet still, for my entire life, I was always single. Always alone.
